Rhino-Rack Fixed Position J Style Kayak Carrier S510

The S510 is a J-style kayak carrier, this is not a japanese fashion trend, rather the name comes from the shape of the cradle arms. These are designed to carry your watercraft on its side, allowing more space on your roof for other gear or more boats. On this model the cradles cannot be folded down, both for cost saving and simplicity of design, as we all know the less moving parts any product has the less can go wrong. The downsides to a fixed J-style kayak carrier are that when not in use wind noise can be an issue, and tying your kayak down is less convenient. If you're looking for a folding J-style kayak carrier Rhino also has the S512 which can be extended to carry two boats and features an integrated paddle holder.

Rhino's basic J style carrier has everything included you'll need to get your kayak to the water. It has two J cradles, tie down straps, stainless steel mounting hardware and rubber tube padding.

Fitting this system is also a breeze with its universal clamp style mounting arrangement which allows you to mount this carrier to most types of crossbars. Please note that there is a fitting kit KC-FK8 available which you'll need for mounting this carrier to Rhino-Rack Vortex and Heavy Duty bars more securely.
