The 9030 comes with an integrated cable lock allowing you to lock the bikes to the carrier. It also has a taller mast height and arched arms to increase the bike to ground distance. The 9030 does require the use of the supplied tool to fit. The Vertex will only fit 50mm receiver hitches and has a 68kg load rating.

To lock the carrier into the receiver hitch please use the BASTL2

At Roof Rack Store we always recommend the use of the Thule LightBoard 976

I ordered the Thule Vertex 5 bike carrier in the evening, and it arrived the next day! Fantastic service! The Vertex married up with my Kluger without any issues and is pretty snug in the hitch. It's a solid unit, very well built. I haven't tried to put 5 bikes on it yet, but I have plenty of space left over with 3 bikes (1 full size and 2 kids). If you need a quality bike carrier, I would certainly recommend the Vertex. And I would recommend buying it from the guys at roofrackstore.com.au if you want a good price with amazingly fast delivery.

No sooner had I ordered the Thule 9030 5 bike carrier, it had arrived. Very prompt delivery (2 days) for a large package. The Thule equipment is very sturdy and fits on my 4wd with rear door mounted spare wheel (Prado) with no extension required. There are good instructions to put the pieces together, and in true Swedish style - the allen key was provided. A quick trip to Youtube helped me understand how the anti-sway devices work. I can't wait for the first of many cycling adventures with the family. Cheers Darren *** Note to Roof Rack Store - the Thule parts pack contained a countersunk M6 x (approx) 10mm screw that wasn't on the parts list. Looks to be surplus - as I can't find anywhere to put it. ***
