Rhino-Rack roof racks for Toyota Hilux, 4 Door Double Cab 2020 Onward. Included are JA7997 Vortex Bars Black 2500 that support a maximum load of 75 kg.

Clamp Mount roof racks use a foot which sits directly on your vehicle?s roof line and has a clamp which attaches to the inside-top of your door frame.

Pros: A very popular style which allows mounting of roof racks when limited factory installed mounting options have been provided by the vehicle's manufacturer.

Cons: Contacts paintwork, and typically provides a lower load capacity than other options.

Note: Always check your vehicle manufacturer's recommended maximum load rating before use.

I purchased these roof racks for two reasons, they have a vehicle specific fitting kit for my 2018 Hilux SR5 dual cab and they are Rhino racks which have always been good quality and fitment in the past. However, these are let down by the fitting kit as the clamps do not fit the vehicle as designed and described in the installation manual. They will not clamp properly to the vehicles door jamb and protrude out enough to hinder the closing of the door which also has the potential to damage the paint on the door. They do not follow the curve of the vehicle door jamb when tightened to the specific tension as described in the manual. If you tighten them more than recommended you can get them to pull in a bit more but still not enough for an acceptable fit. I have checked and double checked the installation and there is nothing I am doing wrong. As it turns out mine is not the only one, I was in a car park the other day and the same model Hilux had the same racks fitted. I had a close look and the clamps were not fitting properly, the same as mine. I contacted the guys at Roof rack store on the 18/9/23 who were very helpful. I sent them photos and a description of the problem which they forwarded onto Rhino. After not receiving any feedback from Rhino I contacted Rhino direct on the 21/9/23 and sent them photos of the installation and the poor fitting clamps. At first, they seemed interested in helping but after a few back-and-forth emails, on the 28/9/23 they suggested I go to ARB or TJM for them to check the install. This just meant more wasted time and expense. I needed to use these racks for my job, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. I could see where the problem was, the shape of the clamp was incorrect. I adjusted the formed angle of the clamp above the door jamb curve of the clamp. I reduced the angle by using a press which fixed the problem. The clamps fit perfectly now and on the 3/10/23 I finally could use the racks. However, the down side is the paint on the clamps got damaged a bit during the pressing process. And yes, it is ridiculous that I had to do this to get them to fit properly. Wake up Rhino and check these clamps. NOT GOOD ENOUGH
